Curling is one of the oldest ice sports. Its origins are mainly associated with Scotland<\/strong>where the oldest known references exist \u2013 for example, a curling stone from Stirling dating from 1511<\/strong> nebo slavn\u00fd Brueghel\u016fv obraz The Hunters in the Snow<\/em> (1565), on which the game is clearly depicted.
In the 18th and 19th centuries, curling spread rapidly throughout Europe and overseas, gradually establishing itself as an official sport.

Po letech snah byl curling v roce 1998 v Naganu<\/strong> za\u0159azen mezi ofici\u00e1ln\u00ed olympijsk\u00e9 sporty.
Od t\u00e9 doby je sou\u010d\u00e1st\u00ed ka\u017ed\u00fdch ZOH a pat\u0159\u00ed mezi div\u00e1cky velmi popul\u00e1rn\u00ed discipl\u00edny.
Curling je za\u0159azen tak\u00e9 na paralympijsk\u00e9 hry<\/strong> v kategorii voz\u00ed\u010dk\u00e1\u0159\u016f.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Curling in the Czech Republic<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Curling appeared in our country in 1990, when enthusiasts began to build the first facilities, procure equipment, and establish clubs and associations. The turning point came with the opening of the first specialized hall in Prague (2004 \u2013 Roztyly). The opening of additional halls in Brno and Ostrava<\/strong> in recent years has further supported the development of the sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Czech national teams regularly take part in the European and World Championships. Among the significant milestones are also participations in ZOH 2022 (mixed doubles)<\/strong> a ZOH 2026 (mu\u017ei)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
