The EJCT junior tournament provided an exciting opportunity for the top Czech junior teams to compete against strong international opposition. 🥌 While the junior women’s competition attracted a large and highly competitive international field, only three foreign teams took part in the junior men’s category – but all three were very strong. The field included the German and Polish junior national teams , as well as a Swiss national championship finalist. All three teams were very strong opponents.
A Great Start to the Tournament 💪
Team Blaha (Kolibris NEO) made an excellent start to the tournament, defeating the strong Swiss team in their opening game. 🇨🇭
The two teams met again in the semifinal. This time, however, the result went the other way, with the Swiss team taking the victory and sending Kolibris NEO into the bronze medal game.
A Confident Performance to Secure Bronze 🥉
In the bronze medal game, our team faced the Polish junior national team. 🇵🇱 Kolibris NEO delivered a strong and confident performance to secure a well-deserved 3rd place.. 🥉👏
Finishing behind the Swiss and German teams, but ahead of the Polish national team and the other Czech competitors , is a very positive result and another valuable experience from a high-quality international tournament.
Historic Success in the Junior Women’s Competition 🏆
Congratulations also go to the experienced Team Dion XX, who won the junior women’s competition. 🥇 They became the first Czech team to win this category in the long history of the EJCT tournament.. 🇨🇿👏
🎙️ Coach Petr Štěpánek on the Tournament
“We are happy with the result. The tournament showed us that we can compete with very strong international teams. It’s a pity about the semifinal, where the Swiss team got their revenge for the opening-game defeat, but we handled the bronze medal game well and deserved to finish third.”
Congratulations to Kolibris NEO on the bronze medal, and best of luck in the upcoming tournaments! 🥌🥉💙
