Tradition, performance, and community on one ice rink

We are a group of enthusiasts who have fallen in love with curling. Since 1996, we have been building a club based on friendship, fair play, and love for this Olympic sport. We are dedicated to working with juniors, developing national teams, and organizing tournaments at home and abroad.

Our history and achievements

The Kolibris Curling Club was founded on April 15, 1996, by a group of the best Czech representatives at the time – D. Šik, M. Polívka, K. Hradec, P. Menšík, and D. Havlena. In 1998, the club achieved a historic success for Czech men's curling when the team advanced to the elite Group A at the European Championships in Flims, Switzerland. This result laid the foundations for the club's long-term philosophy and inspired the development of a strong player and coaching base.

In the following years, Kolibris became one of the largest and most active clubs in the Czech Republic. Men's, women's, junior, and mixed teams regularly represented the Czech Republic at European and World Championships and achieved significant results, including medal placements for juniors. Since 2001, the club has organized the Kolibris CUP international tournament, which has gradually become one of the most popular events in European curling and attracts teams from all over Europe every year.

Over the past decade, Kolibris has focused heavily on working with young people and is now the largest youth curling club in the Czech Republic. It has a large membership base, experienced coaches, and stable competitive teams across all age categories. The club's founders also successfully represent the senior category, where they won silver medals at the 2022 World Senior Championships. Even after more than 25 years, Kolibris remains one of the most successful and respected curling clubs in the country.
